Professionals from the foodservice and hospitality industry will converge on the Darling Harbour precinct in Sydney from 24 - 27 September 2007 for Hotel Australia, the biggest hospitality tradeshow in Australia.
Hotel Australia runs in conjunction with Fine Food and the new Wine & Spirits Australia exhibition. Together they will fill the entire exhibition centre and feature over 1000 exhibitors showing the latest food, drink and equipment.
The focus of the hotel section is on equipment and services for the hospitality industry. This covers a wider range than you might first think. It includes gear for the kitchen, bakery, bar, front-of-house, reception and guest accommodation.
Catering equipment is one of the largest areas covered. This year all the major suppliers will be on show. Large stands include Bevwizz, Comcater, FED, Global, Goldstein, Moffat, Skope, Stoddart, Swiss Systems, Tomkin, Watsons and Williams.
Some of this gear can be seen being used in the Sydney Culinary Challenge. This full blown chefs competition features three live restaurants, multiple competition kitchens and static displays. Chefs will compete for medals and $15,000 in prize money.
Of course it is not all about the kitchen. Restaurants and hotels also need supplies for the front-of-house and accommodation areas. Exhibitors showcasing products for these areas include AH Beard, Australian Fine China, Casio, Concept Amenities, Dudson, Salgo and Sleepmaker.
Bakery also has its own section and this year it has grown significantly. The aptly named ‘Bakery World' will feature a full range of ingredients and equipment. New exhibitors this year include Euroquip, Kerry Australia, Lindsay. MIWE and Silverwater Bakery.
Bakery World is more than just the exhibitors. It also features the Official Great Aussie Pie Competition, Bakeskills apprentice competition and Best of the Best Pizza Challenge. These events run live on the show floor and provide great entertainment.
Buyers also have unrestricted access to Fine Food with another 800 exhibitors displaying the latest food and drink products. This international trade exhibition is the perfect opportunity for hotels, restaurants, bars and food outlets to stock up on the latest ideas.
As if that was not enough, organisers have also launched a dedicated wine show called Wine & Spirits Australia. This new event will run across the other side of Darling Harbour at Wharf 8. Buses will run between the two venues.
Exhibition Director Timothy Collett says the three shows offer an unparalleled opportunity to discover new food, drink and equipment under one roof.
"Hotel Australia, Fine Food and Wine & Spirits provide an economic and time efficient opportunity to access thousands of new products and ideas. Combined with the associated seminars and industry events it is a ‘must attend' event," said Timothy.
These events run from 24-27 September at Darling Harbour. Entry is restricted to members of the food and hospitality industry. Children will not be admitted. Proof of business identification may be required. For more info visit http://www.hotelexpo.com.au/
