Bakery World - A Treat for the Whole Bakery Industry
Melbourne 2nd June 2008: Bakery will be a major feature at the Fine Food exhibition, to be staged from 22 -25 September 2008 at the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre.
Fine Food is the largest food and hospitality event staged in Australia and recognised internationally as the premier event for the food industry in the Asia Pacific region.
Fine Food will feature 1,000 exhibitors, including over 200 international exhibitors from 20 countries showcasing the latest food, drink and equipment to an anticipated 28,000 trade buyers.
Exhibition Manager Minnie Constan says, "The trend toward healthy eating habits, demand for greater variety and product differentiation, along with strong growth in store kitchens and franchised businesses, has changed the dynamics of the bakery market. ‘Bakery World' at Fine Food has also changed to encompass the needs of these allied markets."
"This year we have brought together bakery ingredients, equipment, finished products, merchandising and point-of-sale suppliers to cater for all sectors of the baking industry. ‘Bakery World' is now a substantial baking show within the larger Fine Food exhibition."

The Bakehouse range includes Danish Pastries, Continental Patisserie and Continental Savouries that can be baked-off in a matter of minutes. Also 45g mini versions of their best selling All-Butter, Chocolate and Almond Croissants will be on display.
Many within bakery and food production may not be aware that Food Grade Wheelie Bins are now available for safe use to move and store food product and ingredients. Wrightway Products Food Grade Wheelie Bins are being increasingly used to store and move ingredients. Many bakeries are using the bins to soak grain overnight and when needed easily wheeled to the bin tipper for emptying.
The cupcake craze has well and truly hit Australia and one company that is top of mind when it comes to cupcake packaging is Confeta. They have over 50 different sized patty pans, baking cups and pan liners to suit every application. For bakers who really want their name in everyone's hand all their products can be custom printed.
Fresh Fields Apple has been specifically developed for further cooking and is ideal for all baking applications. Their ready-to-use 3kg Pouch Packs contain delicious New Zealand apples with no added preservatives, sugar or water. No OH & S issues - simply rip & tip and it's ready-to-use.
Yarra Shopfittings will show a bakery range of cabinets including pie warmers, ambient displays, refrigerated displays, stainless steel benches and bread racks, all Australian made and designed especially for Australian conditions. They can custom-make your cabinets to your specific requirements or you can purchase from their range of existing products. Yarra Shopfittings have a wealth of experience in retail store design and can help you from design, to layout, to permits through to finance.
‘Bakery World' will also host two of the industry's highest profile competitions.
Bake Skills is the Australian National Teams competition where apprentice pastry cooks and bakers test their skills in open competition with peers from around the country. The teams compete in a specially constructed bakery on the show floor enabling them to showcase their talents to thousands of food industry visitors.
The Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition is being held within ‘Bakery World' for the 19th year. This competition is the premier pie competition in Australia attracting more than 1500 entries each year. The competition is for fresh baked pies only and is a logistical challenge for the organisers who arrange to air-freight pies from as far afield as King Island and Birdsville to put before 15 judges in a spectacular competition arena.
"Bakery World will be the biggest industry show ever held in Melbourne and, with 50+ exhibitors together in the one place, is sure to satisfy the needs of everyone interested in the industry," said Minnie Constan.
