Fine Food Showcases Opportunities for Retailers

Melbourne 23rd July 2008: Australian food retailers will be exposed to a plethora of exciting opportunities at this year’sFine Food, according to Diversified Exhibitions Australia.>

Food retailers are facing challenging times, but according to Exhibition Manager, Minnie Constan, “There are plenty of marketing and retailing solutions available, it’s just a matter of knowing where to look and the perfect place to do just that is Fine Food, Australia’s largest exhibition for the food and hospitality industries!”

Fine Food is Australia’s only truly international event for the food industry and will be staged at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, 22 – 25 September.

“It’s a unique opportunity to  see, taste, touch and compare an array of new products or services,  tap into new trends and technologies and steal a march on your competitors.”

Over 1,000 exhibitors, filling the whole Melbourne Exhibition Centre, will showcase the latest food products, ingredients, impulse lines, alcoholic beverages, and technology as well as the hottest ideas in signage, point-of-sale and equipment.

Fine Food is supported by many of the big names of the Australian FMCG sector including: Dairy Farmers, Goodman Fielder, Coffex Coffee, KR Castlemaine, Nudie Foods, Peerless Foods, Simplot, Primo Smallgoods and Unilever to name but a few.

The convenience market sector is also well represented with over 30 exhibitors including big names such as Sanitarium, Wanzl, Wedderburn Scales, Goodson and Brice

Retail equipment and merchandising solutions suppliers exhibiting include Detpak, Casio, RP Vending Systems, SSA Scanning Systems, Wanzl and Wedderburn Scales.

One of the contentious issues at the moment is the charging for supermarket bags as one way of reducing the effect on the environment. One exhibitor with an innovative solution is BioPak who have the first starch-based, bio-degradable check-out bags manufactured in Australia.

Wine & Spirits, Australia’s only international trade show for the wine, beer and spirits industry will be staged within Fine Food, so visitors from licensed premises will be able to see all the very latest liquor products side-by-side with food products and equipment.

“Retailers should also take the time to visit the foodservice equipment section of the show,” said Ms Constan. “More and more food retail outlets are incorporating mini businesses within their store, so it is vital that everyone taps into the latest trends and developments. You simply can’t afford to risk missing out on any competitive marketing edge.”

Bakery suppliers include: Equipe, Euroquip, IBE, Ice & Oven Technologies, Mrs Macs, Patties Pies, MEC, Starline Catering Equipment and RVO Enterprises.

These will be joined by some of the finest specialist producers and manufacturers with gourmet products, organic products, spices, snacks, oils, chocolates, sauces, cheeses, meat, seafood and so much more.

Not only will the best Australia has to offer be on show, but Fine Food will also host exhibitors from 23 countries, bringing the best and latest food products and ingredients from all corners of the world to tempt buyers from the retail sector and foodservice industries.

Visitors to Fine Food will see that smart thinking, as well as taking advantage of innovative products and processes, will ensure continued profitability and market success for years to come.
