Wine and Spirits - A Perfect Complement to Fine Food

Melbourne 16th May 2008 - Australia’s leading trade exhibition organiser, Diversified Exhibitions Australia announced that Australia’s only dedicated international wine and spirits trade expo Wine & Spirits will now be located within Australia’s largest food and hospitality industry event Hotel Australia and Fine Food Australia.

“In the past we have run a wine and spirits expo as a separate event but, while it was relatively successful, we found there was buyer resistance to staging them apart. We knew we had a qualified audience at Fine Food and a quality list of exhibitors at the wine expo but we couldn’t get the visitors to take the time to cross over. The solution was to create a one stop shop and include Wine & Spirits within Fine Food as a Feature World,” said Exhibition Director Timothy Collett.

Wine & Spirits is Australia’s only true international trade show for the wine, beer and spirits industry. It presents a unique opportunity for over 100 local and international importers and distributors to showcase their products to a highly qualified trade audience within Australia’s largest food industry trade event Fine Food. Some 27,000 retailers, importers, food professionals, restaurateurs, hoteliers and distributors from around the world will attend.

Visitors from licensed premises will see all the very latest liquor products and services side-by-side with food products and equipment that could be applicable for their business.

Wine & Spirits will house a purpose-built theatre with a program of Free Seminars conducted by respected authority Rob Hicks. These seminars will educate restaurant and catering staff on the finer points of wine and give them knowledge they can impart to customers.

Wine & Spirits will join established product feature worlds for Bakery, Confectionery, Convenience, Dairy, Drinks, Meat & Seafood and Natural Foods.

“Fine Food, Hotel Australia and Wine & Spirits are a must-visit for hospitality professionals,” said Timothy Collett. “There is no doubt in today’s economic climate where every hospitality business has to be open to new ideas, that bringing wine to the Fine Food table means there’s something for every taste. It’s a perfect degustation menu for anyone in the hospitality business.”
